I starred as 'Omar' within the opening sequence as Omar as I felt i would be able to adapt myself to this role, as I am a teenager myself and and met some of the characteristics Omar had, but acting isn't my strong point and felt I had more to offer to the opening scene so I also help co-direct the opening scene and felt I did this successfully.
As we improvised the script etc, as a co-director I had complete flexibility when contributing my ideas as there was no solid camera angles or ideas that had to be in the opening sequence so the ideas that I contributed throughout the opening scene, for example the way we acted out the scene and also the nomination of certain camera angles were integrated in the opening scene.
